    Falling Down

Wednesday, March 26, 2008, 07:35 AM CST [General]

Well, I did it. The very thing I said I'd never do....

I fell off the Witchy Wagon.

I am still a Witch, core and spirit. I Just woke up a few full moons ago and said, "I'm losing my energy... I just can't do it tonight."

Why? I really think it is because I'm lacking the sense of community that I need. I NEED dedicated people to lean on when I start to falter. Just a little, "hey there, let me carry the burden this Ostara, or maybe throw you a Yule party," instead of Vice versa.

However I haven't been able to find that.

I'm not super social, and I am fairly private about my beliefs, but gosh you'd think there would be a nice little organized coven SOMEWHERE in the Western burbs! (And not one full of people telling me that they are so much more enlightened than I, and therefore better in every way)

The good news is I find myself relating to the moon more & more these days, which means soon I will be revitalized; and hopefully emerging from the darkened cocoon...

In the meantime, please feel free to read my other blog:

    camping

Sunday, August 19, 2007, 10:12 AM CST [General]

I took my boys camping this weekend.. a first for all of us. I did just one night just as a test run. It was absolutely fantastic! I am completely smitten with nature & being as close to it as possible.. I do need an air mattress though heh heh :)

The moon was gorgeous... & my fire was a success. S'mores all around.. nice cool sleeping weather too..

I am looking for advice from fellow enthusiasts with more experience.. Where are the best places to camp???

Also what is open year round?Good sleeping bags? Air Mattresses? And the all important COFFEE POTS!!!!!!

My hubby doesn't camp, & he seems a bit bent out of shape by my new interest.. I'll just give him time to convert!

Ok I have fallen so very sadly behind in my blogging..

I went on an amazing retreat to Watervliet Michigan a few weeks back. The grounds are filled with amazing spirits that are so strongly present. I heard a door close as one left the house.. I also felt my stomach drop as if I were on a roller coaster whenever I hit a certain spot in the kitchen. The woman that runs Ronora said there are many energy vortex's that exist over the 400 acres. The land used to belong to the Paw Paw indians.

The best part was connecting with all these incredible women that follow many different paths. True Goddesses. Amazing drumming, chanting, & circles.. I am definitely going back.

    Now my deja vu story..

I recently began talking to a guy I knew eons ago. He was really kind to me when I was attacked by a slightly older guy.. (long story). As we were talking the other night he brought up some people I knew when I was 13 & haven't seen since. He started telling me about this guy named Dan we used to know. He told me about Dan's marriage, divorce etc, Right smack dab in the middle of the whole thing it dawned on me...

    I had this conversation before!

I haven't seen or thought of these people in 20 years.. but I had this conversation before verbatim.

The weirdest part is I felt as if the last time I heard it .... it was in a movie?? It is fuzzy.., the whole picture. but that message is exactly the same.

I'm not sure what to make of it??? Anybody have any ideas or advice??

I'm leaving you with some Lammas pic's I just got..

Happy Lammas!!!!! or whatever your holiday is

Wednesday, August 1, 2007, 08:48 AM CST [General]

Greetings all fellow Pagans whever you may be. Today is a celebration whether it is Lammas, Lunasagh, or even Imbolc!

I'm still on my Full Moon high, having spent 2 nights working a spell that came to fruition quickly & smacked me on my forehead!

I'm starting my day with gooey rich monkey bread.. very bad but oh so good..

Then I will tend to my garden picking all that is ready hopefully more sweet corn:o)

I have a wheat & brown sugar beer bread recipe to make with the kiddies along with some chocolate chip cookies.

I also have a nice family ritual planned for around supper time- lots of pictures will be involved.

My sister was born on this glorious day & she is 100% fiery Leo so I hope she has a wonderful sunshiny day with lots of dancing & fun!!!!!

Gushy, gushy, gushy. I have to be. Before you know it the summer has passed. Fall nights are already in the air!

What identifies a newbie from a seasoned witch?

Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 03:22 PM CST [General]

I had a nice gathering this past Sunday that toched on many topics. The one I find myself always coming back to is this: WHY IS IT SO HARD TO GET PEOPLE IN MY AREA INTERSTED/COMMITTED TO OUTINGS SUCH AS THIS????

I keep getting the feeling that the main thing that organized religion has going for it is this... it's organized! People get & keep a routine. This at least gets people to show up fairly regularly. It probably does not increase the spirituality of the masses.. but it helps with a strong sense of community.

BUT... there was a woman there that passed along an interesting tidbit to me.. Apparently if on the night of a full moon, or a cross quarter holiday, you get super excited and begin to ask "hey, what do you have planned?" fellow seasoned Witches immediately feel that you are a newbie! HMMM... maybe that is my problem!

I have celebrated Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, etc for the past 36 years & every year I ask "so what are your plans for the holiday?" This has never identified me as a newbie to Christianity. People ask, answer, & discuss all those things without a second thought. I for one put the same amount of enthusiasm into my Full Moons & Cross Quarters without a second thought. I share & celebrate all customs & holidays with the same gusto. Every time I ask people what there plans are in all the Pagan groups I get the same answer SILENCE.

It really makes me wonder.. why? Is it because enthusiasm isn't appropriate in Paganism? Is it because people keep their celebrations so private & personal there is no room to share?

Could be. But I have to be honest, I think there is a large portion of the Pagan community that is so open & free form that they are now in the same category as the non practicing Catholics. Paganism has become something of an ethnicity as opposed to a religion. They are Pagan, but actual practice is limited to the occasional meal and circle. I think it's quiet because people think there isn't any time to get together for circles, spiritual disussions, and dumb suppers..

I for one still feel the Magick when I watch the full moon begin her glorious rise into the sky or the first ear of corn is pulled for Lammas... & so I say

So, what are your plans for the first celebration of the harvest? Oh and by the way.. how was your full moon?

    Hey chick,

It's been eons, I know. I too fall off the witchy wagon. It happens. Life happens. But we don't stop being who we are inside. This time of year always puts me back on my path.

Sorry, I contributed to that lack of community you were feeling. Hope I can rectify that.

How are you doing? How is the dog fostering going?

    Best,

    The air gets crisper.
    The rain begins to fall..
    The season is near.

    Trees slowly shed
    Showing us
    What lies beneath.

    The earth’s rhythm slows.
    Comfort and warmth
    Is now important.

The earth, she brings us close
    She soothes us
    She loves us.

The time of blessings is at hand
Take the time to count them
And enjoy the life you live.
